The purpose of this page is to make users aware of the latest versions and updates to statistical software that is commonly used at UCLA. A short list of free statistical software is provided at the end of this page. For the latest updates for those programs, please visit the link provided.

- Amos
- The current version is Amos 29.

- Amos is an SPSS product and is included with the SPSS license that can be purchased from Software Central.
- Amos 29 is included in the SPSS Grad Pack (along with SPSS 29) that students can purchase from the computer store (in the bookstore in Ackerman Union).
- EQS
- The current version is EQS 6.4.
- EQS can be purchased directly from Multivariate Software at http://www.mvsoft.com/ .
- Mac and UNIX versions are available.
- EViews
- The current version is 12.
- EViews can be purchased directly from Quantitative Micro Software at http://www.eviews.com/home.html .
- HLM
- The current version is HLM 8.2.
- HLM can be purchased directly from SSI (Scientific Software International) at http://www.ssicentral.com/ .

- The current version is JMP 16 for Windows. For Mac, the latest version is JMP 17.2.
- Annual licenses for JMP can be purchased from Software Central . These licenses are good from April 15, 2024 to April 14, 2025.
- LatentGold
- The current version is LatentGold 6.0.

- Annual licenses for SAS can be purchased from Software Central . These licenses are good from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. This license is available for purchase by students from the computer store (in the ASUCLA bookstore at Ackerman Union). After purchasing the license, the software can be downloaded from the Software Central website.
- UNIX version of SAS 9.4.7. There is no current version of SAS for the Mac.

- SAS University Edition is free and can be used on Windows machines or Macs.
- SPSS
- The current version is SPSS 29.
- Annual licenses for SPSS can be purchased from Software Central . These licenses are good from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025.
- UCLA has licenses for SPSS Base, Advanced Models and Regression Model, Complex Samples, Conjoint Analysis, Categories, Trends, Tables, Maps, Exact Tests, Missing Values Analysis, Classification Trees and Data Validation. The license also includes Amos, Sample Power and Visualization Designer.
- SPSS 29 is available for the Mac. Amos, Sample Power and Visualization Designer are not available for the Mac.
- The documentation for SPSS installs with the software and can be accessed by clicking on Help -> Command Syntax Reference.

- SPSS for Graduate Students
- This includes SPSS 29 (all modules), Amos 29 and Visualization Designer. This license is available for purchase from the computer store (in the ASUCLA bookstore at Ackerman Union). After purchasing the license, the software can be downloaded from the Software Central website.
- SPSS will support only questions regarding the installation of the software. The license period is from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.
- Stata BE / Stata SE / Stata MP
- The current version is Stata 18.5 and is called StataNow. After installing Stata, you will want to issue the command -update all- (while your computer is connected to the internet) to update it. To see the latest update that has been installed, type -update query- . You can also download the updates from the Stata website ( http://www.stata.com/support/updates/ ) and install them while your computer is offline.

- StatTransfer
- StatTransfer can be purchased from Stata at www.stata.com . Please note that StatTransfer and Stata are two different programs and must be purchased separately.
- StatTransfer can also be purchased from Circle Systems at http://www.stattransfer.com/ .
- The current version is StatTransfer 17. Click on the “About” tab at the top and select “Now” from the pull-down menu to update the program.
- The current version of StatTransfer (version 14) is available for Windows (both 64-bit and 32-bit), Mac OS X, Linux (both 64-bit x86 and 32-bit) and Solaris.
- StatXact
- The current version is StatXact 12.
- StatXact can be purchased directly from Cytel at http://www.cytel.com .

- SUDAAN
- The current version is SUDAAN 11.0.4.

- Annual licenses for SUDAAN (both SAS-callable and stand alone) can be purchased from Software Central”>Software Central . These licenses are good from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.
- The documentation in .pdf format (including the SUDAAN Language Manual and the SUDAAN Examples Manual) install with the program and can be found in the Manual folder in the SUDAAN directory on your computer. If you used the default installation settings, the manuals will be in c:\program files\sudaan\manual .
